Privacy Policy

SkillSpark (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a division of Ayres Capital Enterprises LTD., a company incorporated in Ontario, Canada. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect through skillspark.ca and related services, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have.
We handle personal information in accordance with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and, for commercial electronic messages, Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). By using skillspark.ca, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.
1. Who is responsible for your information
The organization responsible for your personal information is Ayres Capital Enterprises LTD. (operating as SkillSpark), Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Privacy contact: andrew@ayrescapital.ca.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us directly
- Identity and contact details you submit through our “notify me” sign-up — such as your name, email, phone, company, and any message you send.
- Newsletter or email-list sign-up details (your email and, where provided, your name).
- Any other information you choose to send us by email or in a support request.
Information collected automatically
- Technical and usage data such as IP address (which may be anonymized), browser and device type, pages visited, referring site, and date/time of visit.
- Aggregated, largely anonymized analytics data — see the analytics section below.
A separate mobile application for SkillSpark is in development. When it launches, a dedicated privacy policy will govern the information collected through that app; this policy covers the skillspark.ca website only.
We do not knowingly collect more sensitive categories of personal information unless you specifically provide them for a clearly stated purpose.
3. How we use your information
- To respond to your enquiries, requests, and messages.
- To provide, operate, and improve our website and services.
- To send newsletter or marketing messages where you have given consent (see the email section below).
- To understand how our site is used, through aggregated analytics data.
- To maintain the security and integrity of our site and services.
- To meet legal, regulatory, accounting, and record-keeping obligations.
4. Email, newsletters, and marketing (CASL)
- Express consent. We send marketing emails and newsletters only to people who have given express consent. We do not pre-tick consent boxes.
- Sender identification. Every commercial message identifies SkillSpark / Ayres Capital Enterprises LTD. and includes a valid contact method.
- Unsubscribe. Every marketing email includes a working unsubscribe link. You can withdraw consent at any time, and we will action it within 10 business days. You can also unsubscribe by emailing andrew@ayrescapital.ca.
- Records of consent. We keep records of when and how consent was obtained.
Transactional or service messages that are not marketing may be sent without marketing consent, as permitted under CASL.
5. Service providers and third parties
We share personal information only as needed to operate our business, and only with providers bound to protect it. We do not sell your personal information.

Some providers are located outside Canada — see the international-transfers section below. We may also disclose information where required by law.
6. Cookies and analytics
- Analytics. We use privacy-focused, cookieless web analytics, which does not set advertising or tracking cookies and does not track you across other websites. It gives us aggregated, largely anonymized statistics about how the site is used.
- No tracking cookies. Because our analytics is cookieless and we do not use advertising or cross-site tracking, no cookie-consent banner is presented; this section serves as our disclosure instead.
- Essential cookies may occasionally be used to make core site features function. These do not require consent.
You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Disabling some cookies may affect how the site works.
7. How long we keep your information
- Enquiry / contact data — kept while we handle your request and for a reasonable follow-up period.
- Newsletter / marketing data — kept until you unsubscribe, plus a short period to honour the opt-out.
- Analytics data — typically aggregated and retained in non-identifying form.
When information is no longer needed, we securely delete or anonymize it.
8. Where your information is processed (international transfers)
Some of our providers (for example our email and analytics providers) store or process data outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be subject to local laws and accessible to local authorities. We take reasonable steps to ensure comparable protection. By using skillspark.ca, you acknowledge your information may be processed outside Canada.
9. Your rights under PIPEDA
You have the right to access, correct, and withdraw consent for your personal information, and to ask questions about our practices. To exercise these rights, email andrew@ayrescapital.ca. We respond within the timeframes required by PIPEDA (generally within 30 days) and may verify your identity first. If you are not satisfied, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
10. Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information — for example HTTPS/SSL encryption, access controls, and reputable providers. No method is completely secure, but we work to protect your information appropriately.
11. Children’s privacy
Our site is intended for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent. If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact andrew@ayrescapital.ca and we will delete it.
12. Links to other websites
Our site may link to third-party websites. We are not responsible for their privacy practices or content. We encourage you to read their policies.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date above shows when it was last revised. Material changes will be posted on this page. Continued use of skillspark.ca after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
